Enlargement of the male breasts, gynecomastia, is a common condition which may be quite embarrasing to men. Fortunately, there is a procedure which can greatly improve this condition by removing the excessive tissue involved either by means of liposuction or excision or a combination of both, depending upon the amount of tissue and the tone of the skin. Male breast reduction is performed as an out-patient procedure which takes one to three hours depending upon which surgical technique is performed. A patient who only needs liposuction can expect to return to work after a day or two. One having skin and tissue ressection will generally need several days to recuperate.
