Women who choose to have breast enlargement surgery do so to improve their self image. Some feel dissatisfied because their breasts never fully developed to a size that meets their expectations. Others want to bring balance to a breast that is somewhat smaller than the other. Often, women want the procedure to restore their natural breast volume, which may have decreased as a result of pregnancy, weight loss, gravity and aging. This is a personal decision that thousands of women elect to do every year and it is extremely important to be comfortable and at ease with the surgeon and his staff who will be taking care of you both before and after the surgery.

Breast augmentation is a safe procedure when performed by an plastic surgeon who is skilled and experienced with this type of surgery. Dr.Tubb has performed many hundreds of breast augmentations and has lectured internationally on the subject of breast implantation.

When performing the surgery, Dr. Tubb makes a small incision underneath the breast just above the crease-fold and places a saline-filled implant beneath the pectoral muscle located below the breast tissue. This surgery is an outpatient procedure which takes approximately 1 and 1/2 hours.

While the majority of patients who work may resume working a few days following the surgery, they will be restricted from heavy lifting or strenuous upper body exercise for six weeks post-opertively.

Your consultation with Dr. Tubb and his experienced nurses is very informative and will require approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours of your time. You will be fully informed about the procedure and will have the opportunity to ask questions and select the size that is best suited to your frame. You are encouraged to bring your spouse or a friend with you for your consultation.
